HOW DO HOUSE CONCERTS WORK?

We make music as a means to human connection, whether with one another in the moments of creating together or with you, the listeners. We have found that many of our most meaningful experiences happen in people’s homes, at “house shows” or “house concerts,” whether in living rooms or backyards or any space where 30 or 50 or 100 people can gather. We’d love to bring the music to you! We can travel with all the necessary sound equipment, so all you need is a space, your friends, family and extended community and maybe some refreshments to offer hospitality. You can offer the experience as a gift to your guests, or we can work together to charge a ticket price to cover the cost. We love house concerts as opportunities for intimate storytelling, where you can sit in stillness and really listen to the lyrics and the music, where our human lives and our observations become prompts for reflecting and conversing about your own.

how much does it cost to hire the band for a wedding?

We also make music that can move your body, and we’re not snobbish about playing other people’s music. In fact, with years of experience leading classic-pop and folk singalongs, we have a huge repertoire of mellow-gold or what you might call "dad rock” covers, from The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison and lots more, from Greenwich Village to Soulsville to Laurel Canyon. We can entertain guests and get them dancing at your wedding reception, summer barbecue or office party. We can discuss your specific needs, but we generally require for $1500 to $2000 per hour-long set.
