IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY, TELL THEM is the least obtuse album title in The Pinkerton Raid's 15-year career. Sifting through dozens of possible titles, whether lyrics from the songs or summaries of the themes, what survived was this direct manifesto of what the album is about and how we should live as human beings in relationship with one another on this earth. Saying "I love you" isn't the pinnacle of the good life, but it's a hell of a start, because maybe if we say it, we can actually believe it, and we can act on it. Wear this one to remind yourself what you're all about.
